Secret Technique: Pampas Grass Rod Fishing

Synopsis

A man named Kanayama complains that an Ippei rod he had snapped. The old man's rods shouldn't break unless treated roughly, but Kanayama insists it wasn't his fault. Meanwhile, Sanpei and the others meet Kinta, who fishes herabuna with a rod made of pampas grass (susuki). Precisely because pampas grass rods snap easily, taking the fish in carefully is its own kind of thrill, he says. Hearing this, old Ippei seems to get a flash of inspiration.
