Team

Synopsis

The day of the Tokyo Fire Department's internal selection has come. In the venue, Shun is startled to spot Yuki, whom he hasn't been able to reach lately and whose whereabouts he didn't know. Daigo says to Shun, 'Yuki will definitely make it through the internal selection. If we win our way through too, we'll have a chance to meet at the Kanto tournament or the nationals.' As 'Megumi's' first mission, Yuki aims to be number one in the country in the individual rope-bridge crossing event. And the Fuwa team aims to beat the Shogaya rescue team and pass the internal selection in first place. Each of their battles begins! Afterward, the Fuwa team gathered at the ramen shop 'Gyoten.' They had beaten their rival, the Shogaya rescue team, passed the internal selection in first place, and were holding a victory party. The members praise Usui—whose hobby is strength training—for having fulfilled the duty Daigo asked of him: cutting his weight to the limit. At the time, everyone was surprised by Daigo's words, but Daigo himself was surprised too. According to him, until Usui proposed it, 'the idea of reducing the weight of the one being hauled up had never occurred to him' and 'he had never thought someone would do something for him.' He goes on thanking them for their support when the basement flooded and he was trapped, and at the road-collapse scene. Shun and the others are surprised by the confession from Daigo, who rarely shows his feelings. Igarashi and the others get excited that Daigo opened up. As Shun watches all this in tears, it's Tsubaki who speaks to him. Tsubaki had noticed that Shun was stepping in to help the clumsy, taciturn Daigo fit in. Before anyone realized it, the way they called Daigo had changed from 'Toake' to 'Daigo'—it has been one year since Shun came to the Fuwa rescue team.
