The Competition

Synopsis

And then the day of the competition arrives. Against Umimaku High, going for its ninth straight win, the rival schools are fired up, determined that this is their year. Tachibana encourages Ritsuko, to whom everyone in unfamiliar uniforms looks skilled. Sakuma and Tsutsui renew their unspoken resolve not to run from their past regrets. Amid quiet tension and exhilaration, what sustains each member are the days they poured all their passion into music. In the audience, Harada and the other third-years watch over them. With the rallying cry "ichi-on ichi-e" (each sound, a once-in-a-lifetime encounter), the curtain rises on the reborn Orchestra Club.
