Synopsis
Laura's grandpa shows up with the new, upgraded Mecha-Jiro: shovels attached to both hands let him dig underground tunnels. Hamtaro tries to bring him to meet the rest of the gang, but they get separated in the forest. Left on his own, Mecha-Jiro runs into Moguru-kun underground, and they quickly become friends. Once Hamtaro and the others catch up, they all set off to explore the tunnels together.
